Curling

The sport called curling is played with a curling stone and a curling broom. You must use your curling broom to push your curling stone as close to the home (target) as you can whilst your opponent also tries to get closer. You also need flat soled shoes and a loose shirt.

The curling stone by itself weighs approximately 17-20kgs or 40-44lbs, There are a few curling rinks in NZ 2 of them are Auckland and Dunedin.

This sport originated from scotland in the 1870's and Thomas Callender was called The father of NZ curling and he formed the Dunedin club in 1873 and it still plays today.

Nearly every curler would rather lose fairly than win by cheating. If you break one of the rules whilst playing the opponent will try and penalize you for it.

Daily Blog Post

As we pass down the road overlooking all the smoke was as black as charcoal and thick as brick, rising in the air we get the same thought we always have, SHUTDOWN THE FACTORIES! The sight is horrible you can literally see the birds protruding from the sky and landing on the pavement, dead. As we pass into the realm of smoke we cant see a thing.

From the road you can still hear the factories whizzing and whirring as they produce whatever they do produce. The sound was as loud as an elephant threatening a predator as all the factories worked as one.

The smoke was so thick that you could actually
feel it. It felt as sludgy as slimy ooze running
down a wall which made everyone stay in their
car.

The scent of smoke is not at all pleasant and one
whiff of all this smoke will leave you dead in a
couple of breaths. All the houses are as barred
in as super glue.

Weather Acrostic Poem

While the sun gleams brilliant bright
Everyone screams in delight
As they all giggle and laugh
Then the bad weather comes
However the sun draws back again
Everyone screamed in joy

Radiantly they all play.
