Homework P5

My squash coaching lessons last for 1 hour from 11-12am. I started in Term 1 and have been doing it ever since. I would also like to do it throughout year. It cost  $50 a term and $200 a year. The coach's name is Graeme Randolph and he is very skilled at squash. I play in the squash court at the back of the gym. I play squash because it is fun and it is similar to tennis and I quite like tennis as well.

To play squash you will need a racquet and a squash ball. Squash balls are quite small and are not very bouncy unless hit hard. If the ball is hit hard enough and correctly the ball can go over 100km. Also with the squash balls there are two types of balls the yellow dot and the blue dot. The yellow dot is for the warmer days e.g. summer and spring and the blue dot is for the cooler days e.g. winter and autumn and the red is for extremely hot days. The reason for the two temperature balls is so that the bounce better in that season (blue cold, yellow warm, red hot.) The racquet is similar to the squash racquet but the head is more circular and there is not always a hole in the middle of a squash racquet. You hold the squash racquet differently as well, you hold it with your fist around it but make a v shape with the gap between your thumb and index finger on the side of the racquet. You should get a titanium framed racquet rather than an aluminum frame or you will be riskung your racquet bending. "In 2003 Forbes rated squash number 1 healthiest sport" I found this information on Wikipedia.

  1. Fantastic post. I found the facts you chose to share really interesting. The squash ball goes like a rocket! Do the best players have to wear safety glasses? I am looking forward to seeing your photo/video.
